Sisanda Mguzulwa

PhD in Social Development

Sisanda Mguzulwa, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre of Criminology, University of Cape Town (UCT), holds a Master's and PhD in Social Development from UCT, completing her doctoral studies in 2022. Her extensive research delves into the emergence of Gurans, a violent youth culture in Khayelitsha. Sisanda's passions lie in tackling youth violence, crime, and fostering peace through community development. With a firm belief in equality's transformative power, she's dedicated to nurturing students and youth from all walks of life. Her work, presented globally, underscores the importance of understanding human rights through the lens of the challenges they aim to address in marginalized communities.

Sisanda grew in learning, in character, in depth of understanding m she has demonstrated the ability to work independently with great creativity and enthusiasm . She is always consistent, dedicated and passionate cheerful , and a pleasure to work with. Her limitation could be that she does not believe in herself at times and what she can achieve when she let go of her fears.
